Men, look around your workplace right now. Look around your neighborhood. Look around your nation. Right now with the darkness of the financial crisis and the threat of our jobs being terminated, most men, Christian or non-Christian, are pulling back on every front in their lives. It may be that we are witnessing one of the most challenging seasons in our nation in at least a generation. With an economy shedding trillions of dollars, wars and rumors of wars, plus an election unlike any in our history, it’s truly a time where ‘men’s hearts fail them for fear.’ Everything that God our Commander and Chief has blessed us with is under attack: our wives, children, churches, businesses, jobs, but mostly the men God created us to be – fierce, mighty warriors for his kingdom young and old. Men, now is the time the battle cry has been sounded. And the Lord has something to say on the matter. "But for you who fear my name, the sun of righteousness shall rise with healing in its wings. You shall go out leaping like calves from the stall. And you shall tread down the wicked, for they will be ashes under the soles of your feet, on the day when I act, says the LORD of hosts." (Mal 4:2-3)And in 1 Peter 5:8-9, "Be self controlled and alert your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for some one to devour, resist him standing firm in the faith because you know your brothers through out the world are under going the same kind of sufferings." So much of this present darkness is fueled by uncertainty. Men lack the clarity of vision to fight through - the confidence that God speaks to them, that Jesus really does lead in such a way that His sheep hear Him. If we ever were in more need of clarity it is now. Clarity of purpose, clarity of vision, clarity of God’s call. Just last night, at our weekly Band of Brothers meeting, we at Boot Camp Northwest found ourselves laughing and joking, farting, burping, and in tears at the joke of a brother...and it was wonderful. We don’t share this with you to boast or make fun, but to share a revelation with you. God has blessed us with His joy and His peace to a depth that puts all fear behind us...and it all started, for each of us, with a Boot Camp. Last night was a few hours that stood in stark contrast to the anxiety and confusion that we all saw around our jobs, businesses and neighborhoods and we felt so blessed. Don’t hesitate. The enemy prowls around like a hungry lion...remember? He will do everything he can to keep you from the freedom God has for you. Yes, freedom even now, when the whole world shakes. Come and find your true father, come and hear your true name. Come. Come find peace and change the world.
