The Seven Weeks of Easter During a Pandemic Series: What Lurks Under It All

This is part two in our series leading up to Penecost.

Did you know that Easter traditionally is celebrated in the liturgical calendar for seven weeks? It all culminates on Pentecost, which this year is May 31st, 2020.

So in keeping with this amazing season our team member Stephen Carter has given us some great reflections. We will post these throughout the week leading up to the last Feast of Easter, Pentecost. Take it away Stephen!

In case you missed the first one, you can go back and read it here.

What Lurks Under It All?

After spending time in the Old Testament, I have been reading on how the Israelites suffered under comparison. The common talk, it seemed “when we were in Egypt we had _______.

Keeping up with neighbors, friends, relatives can be an awful trap. It seems our “desires” can be driven by what we “fear” and “think” -set our mind on. This pandemic time can add an even darker element to this too as so many are suffering in different ways while others seem untouched by the disruptions.

Where do you put your hope? How would you know?

Where do you put your faith? How would you know?

On a scale from 1 to 100 what do you fear most:

What do you turn to when you have anxiety and fear?

These things could be agreements, strongholds, and/or idols.

How much are you willing to trust God if you really gave these things to him and what would it look like?

How Bootcamp NW helps me and others is by revealing & laying these down before God, trusting him wholly by sharing our stories...of triumph and failure. God’s reflections in our dull lives bring hope and inspiration for others to take the next step of faith, God’s Secret Sauce.
